HESSLE ROAD PRAM RACE IS BACK!! Dear The historic Hessle Road pram race is set to be revived this year thanks to members of the community of Hessle Road. The race, which was first run in 1986, saw hundreds of residents and businesses racing prams up and down Hessle Road in the hope of winning prizes. The race was a real community event for all the family.
A Committee has been formed with representatives from the Voluntary/Community Sector, Local Authority and Local Business to organise the event and manage any funds raised. The Pram Race Committee is currently applying for charitable status. For more details email kimhepple@yahoo.co.uk The race will be followed by, a carnival on Massey playing fields which will include fairground rides, sports, arts, music, and activities for children and young people, and representatives from local community groups, there will also be an historical display at the Western Library, on the Boulevard. Enclosed is an application form for you and your organisation to complete if you would like to enter or sponsor the race. If you cannot take part then, please sponsor another person/organisation. DO get involved and help us to make the event a huge success.
